건축물의 생성과 소멸, 개발로 인하여 변화되는 도시공간에 관심을 갖고 있다. 사람들의 접근이 차단된 신도시 건설현장이나 재개발 구역의 철거 현장에 들어가서 직접적으로 건축 과정에 개입하며 도시가 변화하는 장면을 사진으로 기록하는 작업을 진행하고 있다.

<Construction Site>, <Construction Site-Topology>(2012~2021)는 콘크리트 건축물 내부의 건설 과정에서 일어나는 자연적, 인공적 현상과 건축물을 구성하는 건축자재와 공간의 상호적 관계를 중심으로 촬영했다.

<Construction Site>(2012)는 신도시 건설현장에서 진행한 작업으로 완공하면 볼 수 없는 지하의 공동 공간을 촬영하였다. 마감이 마무리되지 않은 콘크리트 공간에서 일어나는 자연적인 현상을 포착했다. 기능적인 사물들의 질서에 개입하거나 콘크리트 표면이 확산하는 자연광을 장노출로 촬영하여 이성적인 공사 현장을 정서적인 공간으로 표현하였다.

I’m interested in city spaces and the ways in which they change due to the creation, destruction, and development of architectural structures. My work involves venturing into demolition zones for New City construction sites and redevelopment projects, setting that are inaccessible to the public, in order to involve myself directly in the construction process and record the changing city and structure in photographs.

Construction Site (2012) A construction site is where the act of destroying nature collides with the act of creating a place to live. Until the construction is complete, the site is a non-existent space, somewhere in between natural and artificial; it is a functional space in which urbanization swiftly progresses. Inside the site, I was able to find aspects that conflicted with these functional qualities of the sites. Then, by interfering with the order of the items that exist for functional purposes and by capturing their tranquil side, I represented this seemingly rational, objective construction site as a personal and emotional space.
