Reconstruct (2020)
건축물의 생성과 소멸, 개발로 인하여 변화되는 도시공간에 관심을 갖고 있다. 사람들의 접근이 차단된 신도시 건설현장이나 재개발 구역의 철거 현장에 들어가서 직접적으로 건축 과정에 개입하며 도시가 변화하는 장면을
사진으로 기록하는 작업을 진행하고 있다.
<컨스트럭트 Construct>, <리컨스트럭트 Reconstruct>(2017~2021)는 건축물이 생성되는 과정에서 건축물의 일부로 변화하는 건축 자재와 폐기물을 수집하고 공간 속에 재배치하여 기록한 사진 작업이다. 건축 공정의 신속화와 효율성을 위해 건축 자재들이 점점 더 얇고 가벼워지며 조립과 해체가 용이한 형태로 변화하는 지점을 포착했다.
<리컨스트럭트 Reconstruct>(2020~2021)는 근 근대건축물의 리모델링 건축현장에서 진행한 작업으로 기존의 벽면이 복원 과정으로 새로운 건축자재로 덮이는 과정을 촬영하였다. 근대건축물에 대한 리모델링 복원사업은 기존 건축양식을 보존하며 현대적인 방식으로 기능적 효율을 높이는 방식으로 진행하는데 건축현장에는 오래된 건축물의 거친 표면과 매끈한 최신 소재의 건축 자재가 교차한다. 새로운 건축자재와 건축물에서 분리되는 옛 건축물의 폐기물을 수집하여 현장에 설치하고 변화를 사진으로 기록했다.

I’m interested in city spaces and the ways in which they change due to
the creation, destruction, and development of architectural structures. My work
involves
venturing into New City construction sites (inaccessible to the public) and demolition zones for redevelopment projects to explore the changing city spaces, involving myself directly in the situations I encounter as I record them in photographs.
For Reconstruct and Construct (2017-2021), I assembled construction materials and waste from the construction process and arranged them as structures
within space. In my photographs, I record the changing space and the transformation in structures that become absorbed or disappeared as another structure is completed.
Reconstruct (2020~2021) was carried out at a site where a modern building was being remodeled. For this work, I filmed the process of the previous walls being covered over with new architectural materials as part of the restoration. The process of remodeling modern buildings involves preserving the existing architectural style while using modern methods to boost functional efficiency. Such sites juxtapose the coarse surfaces of old structures with the sleekness of state-of-the-art architectural materials. I gathered construction materials from the restoration to install in a two-dimensional arrangement on the site, while recording in photographs as the three-dimensional architectural structure transformed into a modern space with a two-dimensional aesthetic through the remodeling process.
